The state of Iowa has approximately 116 resident and 70 non-resident licensed landscape architects and 15 firms that provide landscape architecture services. Some landscape architects work as individuals while others may work in design build companies, landscape architecture design firms or multidisciplinary firms that include architects, engineers and interior designers. The 1998 Task Analysis Study of the profession of landscape architecture conducted by the Council of Landscape Architecture Registration Boards (CLARB) lists several services and tasks that impact the health, safety and welfare of the public.
